Do.
Don't.
A font should not only look good but also align with the feeling of the message that you are trying to deliver.

However, there are some fonts that should ideally never be selected such as Comic Sans.
Keep the typeface simple, avoid adding effects like bevel and emboss, curves, multiple colours etc.
Typeface (Font) selection
Keep it simple
Keep only the necessary elements you want to show on the page. Too many actions points (in red) could confuse your target audience.
Use graphical elements to enhance and simplify your interface without taking away important information
Keep your code simple
Sometimes this does not mean writing the least lines of code, but writing code that is simple for anyone to read and understand.
